Want to Be Atlanta's Biggest Loser?

ATLANTA -- "Atlanta's Biggest Loser" is now accepting entries for contestants for the show's fifth edition.

Like its national cousin, this season of "Atlanta's Biggest Loser" is a couples' edition. Any kind of couple can apply -- siblings, parent/child, co-workers, friends and every pairing in between.

The deadline to apply is noon on Friday, Feb. 18 at www.atlbiggestloser.com.

"Atlanta's Biggest Loser" will officially begin on Monday, Mar. 7. Six teams of two will work with one of 11Alive's two fitness partners, D.R.E.A.M.

Atlanta Hawks sponsor "Why Bully Free is the Way to Be" Essay Contest

Atlanta, GA--  This is the last week to submit your essay for a chance to win!

The Atlanta Hawks have announced that entries are now being accepted for the “Why Bully Free Is The Way To Be” Essay Contest.  The contest is part of the Hawks’ Read to Achieve program sponsored by Philips.

One Grand Prize Winner will be picked up by a limousine for a ride to school with Al Horford, and have the Hawks center visit his or her classroom.  The winner will also receive four tickets to the Hawks’ Read to Achieve Night game against the New York Knicks on March 6 (6 p.m.

Atlanta, GA--  DeKalb County Youth Soccer Organization SMYSA is kicking balls while taking donations to inspire our 16.8% of neighboring families living below poverty levels.  Every donation can help aid our community with support, food, clothing and toys for the holidays.

Want to Run in Atlanta's Half Marathon this Thanksgiving? Train with a Coach Now

Atlanta, GA-- For those runners who will be running in the Atlanta Half Marathon on Thanksgiving morning, Coach Will Dillard, along with Fleet Feet Sports Atlanta, will have a training program designed specifically for intermediate and veteran runners.

An informational meeting and sign up will be at Fleet Feet Sports Atlanta on Sunday, September 12th at 3:00 p.m., and group runs begin Saturday, September 18th.

The cost of the program is $99.00 and will include the following: Ten Saturday group runs from various locations with optional Wednesday training runs beginning October 6th, a detailed written schedule, seminars on injury prevention and nutrition, access to Coach Will at the runs and by email for training questions, weekly email training tips, a long sleeve technical tee for race day, and socks and other goodies from program sponsors.
