Piccadilly raises money for Stand Up To Cancer

(WXIA) -- Piccadilly Restaurants has joined MasterCard's Stand Up To Cancer movement by contributing to the Dig In and Do Good campaign.

Dig In and Do Good gives restaurants the opportunity to donate a portion of proceeds to the fight against cancer.

Through Sept. 28, Piccadilly customers who spend at least $10 will have $0.01 of their checks donated to Stand Up To Cancer.

"We are thrilled to be participating in the Dig In and Do Good campaign benefiting Stand Up To Cancer this year," Piccadilly CEO Tom Sandeman said in a statement. "We hope that with Piccadilly's support, we can add to the dollars raised and increase the awareness needed to fund research and save lives."

MasterCard Worldwide hopes to raise $4 million through Dig In and Do Good.

Piccadilly has restaurants in Atlanta, College Park, Conyers, Fayetteville and Tucker.

The Red, White and Brew dishes will be offered through Monday, July 29.

"The Red, White and Brew celebration menu is our culinary salute to this great country and the good memories summertime brings to friends and family," Marlow's Tavern co-founder and executive chef John C. Metz said in a statement.

New offerings include a beer and cheese soup; a watermelon, feta and arugula salad; a "Wild West" bison burger; a blackened swordfish dish; chili-slathered corn on the cob; and a strawberry and rhubarb layer cake.

In addition, Marlow's Tavern will offer a new sangria and a watermelon margarita.

Mellow Mushroom unveils 'High on Thai' menu

ATLANTA -- Atlanta-based Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers will run a special Thailand-themed promotion through July 14.

The "High on Thai" menu features several dishes with the bold, spicy and sweet components of Thai cuisine.

It includes a new appetizer, a "Big Buddha" salad, two hoagies, a dessert and, of course, a pizza -- Thai Dye, which features an olive oil and garlic base, mozzarella cheese, yellow curry, chicken, onions, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh basil and sweet chili sauce.

"Summer is the perfect time to enjoy both the freshest of ingredients and traditional Thai flavors like ginger, lime, curry, cilantro, basil, coconut and more," Mellow Mushroom VP of brand development Annica Kreider said in a statement.

TUCKER, Ga. -- Metro Atlanta's favorite build-your-own-pizza restaurant will open its latest location in Tucker this weekend.

Uncle Maddio's will open its doors for the first time on Saturday, May 18 at 11 a.m. The restaurant is located across from Northlake Mall.

The chain will celebrate its newest restaurant by giving away free 9" three-topping pizzas from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"We're bringing pizza to Tucker like it's never been done before," Uncle Maddio's Northlake owner Brett Pearman said in a statement. "I chose to open an Uncle Maddio's because I was blown away by their 'Served with Love' culture, by the taste and how they interact with the community. I'm confident the people in and around Tucker will love us too."

Chipotle offers BOGO special for teachers

ATLANTA -- Chipotle Mexican Grill is celebrating Teacher Appreciation Day by offering buy-one-get-one menu items for educators.

On Tuesday, May 7, a teacher who shows a valid school ID at any U.S. Chipotle restaurant will receive a free burrito, burrito bowl, salad or order of tacos when they buy another menu item.

The promotion is available from 4 p.m. to close.

"We are changing the way people think about and eat fast food. This means going beyond our commitment to better food from more sustainable ingredients and working hard to engrain our restaurants in the communities that they serve," Chipotle communications director Chris Arnold said in a statement. Coke partners with Firehouse Subs for national contest

ATLANTA -- Coca-Cola and Firehouse Subs are partnering for a national sweepstakes centered on stock car racing.

Coca-Cola is sponsoring the Coca-Cola Photo Finish sweepstakes at Firehouse Subs locations through Apr. 21.

During the contest, life-size cutouts of participating Coca-Cola Racing Family members will be placed in FIrehouse Subs locations. Firehouse Subs guests can snap a photo with the cutout and submit it to win. Guests can submit photos via text to cocacolaphotofinish.com, or entries can be mailed.

Participating drivers include Joey Logano, representing the Georgia and Gulf region; Greg Biffle, representing the West and Central region; Danica Patrick, representing the Florida region; Denny Hamlin, representing the South region; and Tony Stewart, representing the Mid-Atlantic region.
