Marlow's Tavern Grabs The Holidays By The Tail

Back by popular demand, Marlow’s Tavern is once again offering its five-week-long “Lobsters & Libations” menu from Tuesday, November 30 through Monday, January 2. This year, the neighborhood eatery has revamped the limited-time offering by implementing guest feedback on all of last year’s lobster-themed dishes. From keeping crowd favorites to modifying other menu items, Marlow’s Tavern has truly taken its guests into consideration.

“We are excited to bring back our ‘Lobsters & Libations’ menu,” says Executive Chef/Co-Founder John Metz. “We love how enthusiastic our guests are about the selections, and because we always offer it this time of year, it helps to get everyone in the holiday spirit,” he adds.

Much like last year’s offering, this year’s menu puts a Marlow’s twist on classic dishes. From the lobster and shrimp chowder (a guest favorite) to lobster pot pie, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The “Lobsters & Libations” menu includes the following dishes, which are offered daily:

·         Maine lobster and shrimp tavern chowder – New England style chowder with apple wood smoked bacon, carrots, corn, sweet onion, Burbank potatoes and fresh herbs ($7)

·         Maine lobster pot pie – simmered perfectly with carrots, peas, green beans, crisp potatoes, and sweet herbs with sauce velouté and a flakey herb crust ($15)

·         Over-stuffed tail – cold water lobster tail stuffed with shrimp, scallops, mascarpone, sweet herbs and garlic pita served with jalapeño corn grits, baby Broccolini and citrus herb sauce ($25)

·         Maine tail and turf – grilled filet mignon, tempura tail and shrimp tail, crispy wild mushroom potato cake, baby Broccolini and citrus butter ($26)

·         Chocolate banana bread pudding – challah bread, banana and chocolate with vanilla and caramel ($6)

The bar at Marlow’s Tavern will offer luxurious new cocktails, beers and wine selections that complement the lobster dishes as well as the regular menu items. These sumptuous sips include:

·         Angeline Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley ‘09 –big, bold and beautiful intense tannins with a fruit forward balance ($9.50/$38)

·         Steele Shooting Star Chardonnay, Mendocino ‘09 – citrus and mineral characteristics with a hint of stone fruit flavors and bright acidity ($8/$32)

·         Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale –wonderfully robust and rich, dry-hopped for a lively, intense aroma, brewed especially for the holidays ($5)

·         Holiday Spice Martini – Smirnoff vanilla vodka combined with autumn spices of cinnamon and nutmeg to capture the tastes of the season and shaken until chilly ($8.50)
