ADOPT A PET: Meet Max

DECATUR, Ga. - If you dream of coming home to a wet nose, wagging tail and tons of kisses (in addition to, perhaps, a half chewed shoe or overturned trashcan) adopt a puppy from your local pet shelter. According to the ASPCA, approximately 5 million to 7 million domesticated animals enter animal shelters nationwide, every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized. However, you can change those numbers but adopting a "companion" for yourself or your family. Pets are an investment but, in our opinion, an investment well worth the money.

Max is a nine-month-old Welsh Corgi mix, which, according to the Humane Society, makes him the perfect pet. Max has a petite build like a Jack Russell terrier and is brindle colored. The Humane Society says he’s a pretty happy guy who likes to explore but wants a family to call his own. Although he’s still young, he is eager to learn new tricks and wants an owner who will also be a playmate. He can be adopted for $175.00 and is a part of the Small Dog Adoption program at PAWS.
