Tucker, GA--  (submitted by Mekka Parrish, Dekalb PIO)  The DeKalb County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit is partnering with Crime Stoppers Atlanta in search of new tips in the St. Timothy Assault Investigation.

On February 26, 2011 around 3:30 p.m. a female worker from St. Timothy Church was sexually and physically assaulted by an unknown man.  According to detectives, the 53 year old victim was working inside a church office when she answered an exterior office door.  Once the door opened, the assailant forced his way in and assaulted the victim.  Detectives believe following the assault the suspect robbed the victim of some belongings, including a cell phone.  The cell phone was later sold to an individual not connected to the assault near Underground Atlanta.

Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in this case.  He is believed to be a black male between 40-50 years of age, 6’2 weighing approximately 180 pounds.  Detectives are asking anyone who may have been in the vicinity of 5365 Memorial Drive on February 26, 2011 between 3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. and saw someone fitting this description or someone acting suspiciously to come forward.  Additionally, anyone near Underground Atlanta on the same date between the hours of 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. is encouraged to call if they witnessed a person fitting the above description attempting to peddle a cell phone.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404.557.8477.  Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
