AADD names Melissa Perlman as social worker

DECATUR, Ga. -- All About Developmental Disabilities (AADD) announced Melissa Perlman has been named as Social Worker for the nonprofit agency’s Family Support Center (FSC). Every year, AADD (www.aadd.org) provides support services, advocacy and training to more than 2,000 individuals and families living with developmental disabilities.

The FSC is designed to serve individuals and families living with developmental disabilities in metro Atlanta and across Georgia, offering assistance during difficult life transitions. The Center is initially funded to serve more than 1000 people annually, but the non-profit organization plans to expand its services as funding allows.

A licensed master of social work, Perlman stresses person-centered services as a way to draw on the strengths and preferences of the individuals being served. She strives to educate and empower families and individuals to construct a meaningful and fulfilling life.

“We’re excited to welcome Melissa Perlman to the AADD team,” said Kathy Keeley, AADD’s executive director. “Her person-centered experience to supporting families with developmental disabilities exemplifies the AADD approach.”
