DINNERS ON A DIME: Cinco de Mayo

DECATUR, Ga. – This week, Dinners on a Dime features local Cinco de Mayo eats. Every Tuesday Where U Live will choose four favorite eats in your area for you to take your family and friends for a fabulous meal, under $20.

At Los Loros Mexican Restaurant the fish tacos are “excellent” and the margaritas are “tasty”. This neighborhood restaurant is a favorite to people who live in the area. Guest favorites include fish tacos and the beef enchilada. The signature margarita is mixed with tequila and Gran Marnier, making it the menu highlight. Visit the restaurant for their Cino de Mayo celebration at 1248 Clairmont Road in Decatur.

The Monterrey Mexican Restaurant in Tucker is known for their Mega-Margaritas, great service and always fresh salsa. On Cinco de Mayo the restaurant will offer food and drink specials, however, nothing on the regular menu exceeds $15. Come down to this location or visit their Tara Boulevard restaurant to celebrate. The restaurant is located at 3865 Lavista Road in Tucker.

If live entertainment and $5 dinner entrees sound good to you, come out to Pacho’s Mexican Grill in Covington. Pacho’s will be offering regular entrees for $5 and select appetizers for 55 cents.  Unfortunately, for celebratory drinkers, the restaurant won’t be offering any drink specials; however, they will have a live singer starting at 6:00 p.m. Visit Pacho’s at 6193 Highway 278 in Covington.

Check out everyone’s favorite dive, Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant. The restaurant will offer Cinco de Mayo specials but everything is, already, pretty inexpensive. Guest favorites include guacamole and the loaded nachos. The restaurant has been in the area for a while and neighborhood residents love to visit the restaurant’s veteran server “Oscar”. Come celebrate with Oscar and the restaurant in 1171 South Harriston Road.

Be sure to log on next Tuesday, we’ll share our picks for “Breakfast on a Dime”.
