DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- This year's DeKalb International Food and Music Festival will be Saturday, Oct. 19 at Northlake Mall.
The event, which will be held from noon to 6 p.m., is coordinated by county Commissioner Stan Watson.
"We are excited to bring back the DeKalb International Food and Musical Festival, and I am confident that the festival will unite the dynamic blend of cultures and traditions that continue to exist in our country," Watson said in a statement.
The International Food and Music Festival celebrates DeKalb residents' many cultures, including Asian, African, West Indian and Middle Eastern. Planned festivities include shopping, food sampling and a Children's Village with puppet shows and face painting; admission to the kids' section is $10.
"As Georgia's most diverse county, we are proud to have numerous cultural groups call DeKalb home," Lee May, the county's interim CEO, said. "This event is a great look at DeKalb's vibrant population, traditions and cultures."
Northlake Mall is located at 4800 Briarcliff Road.
